Over the past 10 months we’ve been amazed at the support from our local community and the interest from people around the globe. It’s because of this support that we want to take a moment and explain a few changes that have occurred and are coming.
What’s Changing?
The first change is price. As you may have noticed, we’ve raised prices this season and feel we should be transparent about why. We struggled with this decision for several weeks, but currently the cost and supply of certified organic elderberries is insane. One pound has gone from $18 when we started to $27 (if in stock with suppliers) to $49 on Amazon. It’s this fluctuating market and rise in demand that is behind the pricing changes. We hope that we are able to secure elderberries at a consistent price going forward and are finalizing those partnerships currently.
Change number 2, shipping is actually coming. We’ll have more information once all of the logistics are in place, but in short we’ve had the privilege to work with a great packaging company that has helped design a custom box for the glass bottles, and we’re currently testing the packaging and shipping options. We anticipate that we’ll be shipping by the end of October.
Change number 3, we’re discontinuing our bottle reuse policy and coupons. Unfortunately, after some conversations internally we determined that we aren’t able to ensure the quality of our product when we’re not personally sterilizing them.
Lastly, with the addition of shipping, we will be launching a subscription program. The details will be elaborated closer to launch, but in short we’ll have monthly programs where we’ll send a fresh bottle each month. For continual use throughout the year, or just for the 9 months of the school year (sick season), we hope to make it more convenient and easy for everyone to Live Berry Well.
Thank you everyone for all of your support, feedback and referrals. We have been overwhelmed by the kindness from everyone.
